This is a recent portfolio study looking at ideas of beauty, age, vanity, and surgery. Partly inspired by the Bulwer-Lytton quote above.
I was also intrigued to see if viewcount on certain digital portfolio websites would be increased by the provocative nature of parts of the image. Over the course of two days at Cgtalk the painting has had over 1400 views compared to the average viewcount of around 300. I hope that the increase is due to the quality of concept rather than anything else…

I love this picture. The reaction it had on Cgtalk amused me. People saw a picture of huge (and very well painted ahem!) breasts, clicked on in to see more and didn’t quite get what they expected I believe. I’m delighted these people proved slowgolde’s point! Did it make them think I wonder? I’m certainly going to make an effort to be less shallow
